Dr. Tien Khee Ng became an SPIE Senior Member

The professional distinction recognizes his significant contributions to optics and photonics.

Much of Dr. Ng's work has focused on optoelectronics. His professional journey, which he describes as "rarely following a straight line," has involved moving between academia and industry. He has worked across diverse areas, including semiconductor growth, manufacturing, device physics, communication systems, and laboratory development.

Tien Khee joined KAUST in 2009 and helped co-establish the KAUST Photonics Laboratory, contributing to the development of a new research ecosystem from almost the ground up.
